Search DeKalb County Court Records
The main online path for DeKalb County court records is Missouri Case.net, the public access system used by Missouri courts. DeKalb County is in the 43rd Judicial Circuit, and the local court includes Circuit, Associate, and Probate Divisions. Case.net is the first place to check for a public case number, litigant name, docket activity, hearing date, judgment, or public disposition. It is not the only access channel. The DeKalb County Circuit Clerk remains the local custodian for court case questions, certified copies, older records, and records that do not display online.
Case.net should be used directly through the official Missouri Judiciary interface. Research access to the system was blocked for automated inspection, and Missouri warns against automated scraping of judiciary sites. Public users should search the live system themselves, then use the Circuit Clerk's office when the search result is incomplete, when a certified record is needed, or when a case may be in a municipal division instead of the main circuit record.
- Open the official Case.net public case search and choose a case-number or litigant-name search.
- Enter the case number from a notice, ticket, or court paper, or enter a party name as it is likely to appear in the court record.
- Review the case header for court, county, division, case type, and parties before relying on the result.
- Open the docket entries to check hearings, filings, judgments, dispositions, payments, warrants, or other public actions.
- Use Track This Case if alerts are available, and contact the Circuit Clerk for certified copies or records not available online.
The county's County Clerk page identifies a separate administrative clerk office, not the court-record custodian. The screenshot below comes from the official County Clerk source listed in the image manifest.
That distinction matters because DeKalb County court records are handled through the Circuit Clerk, while county commission, election, notary, and budget records are handled by the County Clerk.

The DeKalb County Recorder uses a different online system for land, tax lien, and indexed marriage records. The official Recorder online search page says iCounty covers real estate, marriage, and tax lien record information, not court case files.
Use iCounty for Recorder material only. Use Case.net and the Circuit Clerk when the user intent is a court case, court docket, judgment, or certified court copy.
Types of DeKalb County Court Records
DeKalb County court records come from the Circuit Court system and its divisions. Civil cases may include petitions, answers, motions, service returns, judgments, garnishments, liens, executions, and satisfaction entries. Criminal cases may show charging documents, charges, warrants or summonses, bond entries, pleas, motions, hearings, dispositions, sentences, fines, costs, restitution, and probation terms. Domestic cases can include divorce, custody, child support, paternity, and orders of protection, with redactions when minors, support data, or protected information are involved.
Probate Division records cover estates, wills, guardianships, conservatorships, trusts, inventories, claims, settlements, and orders. Traffic and ordinance matters may appear in associate circuit or municipal division records, depending on the citation and issuing agency. Marriage records are not Circuit Clerk court records unless a divorce or domestic case is involved. DeKalb County marriage licenses are held by the Recorder of Deeds.

What DeKalb County Court Records Show

DeKalb County Court Records Access
Missouri access rules involve both open-records policy and court-specific limits. RSMo 610.011 states Missouri's policy favoring open public records unless a law provides otherwise. RSMo 610.023 addresses inspection and copying by public governmental bodies. Court records also follow Missouri judiciary access rules, including remote-access and redaction practices described by the Missouri courts and legal resources.
For practical DeKalb County access, search Case.net first, then contact the Circuit Clerk for copy requests, courthouse access, certified copies, and older records. A request should include the case number if known, party names, approximate filing date, case type, and the exact copy needed. The Circuit Clerk page lists office contact information and warns that email attachments sent to the clerk are not valid filings. Do not use clerk email to file pleadings.

The iCounty login shown by the official Recorder login source requires a user account and paid subscription for Recorder records.
That login is helpful for Recorder searches, but it should not be used as a substitute for Case.net or a Circuit Clerk request when the needed record is a court case.
Restricted DeKalb County Court Records
Not every DeKalb County court record is public online. Juvenile records are generally confidential under RSMo 211.321 unless a statute or court order allows access. Adoption records, mental-health matters, sealed cases, expunged criminal records, and filings with protected personal identifiers may be closed, redacted, or limited to authorized parties. Minor names, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, protected addresses, and medical details should not be expected in public results.
Expunged records are also treated differently from ordinary public files. Under RSMo 610.140, eligible criminal records may be closed by court order. RSMo 610.120 explains that closed criminal records are not destroyed, but they are not open to the general public except for authorized uses. A person seeking access to a sealed or confidential record should expect to show legal authority or obtain a court order.

Account registration for Recorder records does not change court confidentiality rules for juvenile, sealed, expunged, or restricted judicial records.
DeKalb County Court Copy Requests
In-person, mail, phone, and limited email contact remain important access channels for DeKalb County court records.
